Thomas Streed is an internationally recognized behavioral scientist, who is the founder and owner of Forensic Consultation International, a privately held company that consults throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, Central and South America regarding the investigation and analysis of criminal activity and violent behavior.

He received his Ph.D. in Human Behavior in 1983 while working as a homicide detective for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, San Diego, California. He retired from the SDSO in 1991, and during the course of his twenty-four year career, he was involved in excess of two thousand death investigations ranging from suicides to sadistic-ritual murders, serial killings and mass murders. Dr. Streed is a licensed private investigator and often consults with Local, State, Federal and Military law enforcement agencies regarding the investigation of violent crimes. He frequently testifies in the Superior, Federal and Military Courts as an expert in such areas as crime scene analysis and interpretation, police use-of-force, military use-of-force (rules of engagement), drug-induced behaviors, and interrogation tactics and techniques.

Dr. Streed is a recognized media personality, who has appeared on such programs as 60 Minutes, Inside Edition, 48 Hours, Hard Copy and Court TV. In addition to his media involvement, he has written several screenplays and lectures and consults for the television and motion picture industry regarding content in the crime-fiction / non-fiction arenas.

Dr. Streed is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and is a member of numerous professional associations and commissions, which include the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Society of Forensic Science, the American Association of Suicidologists, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the California Homicide Investigator's Association, the San Diego Crime Commission and the United States Association of Professional Investigators.
